The 8th Public Pension International Training in the Asia-Pacific Region

The Health and Social Policy Programme at the OECD Korea Policy Centre (KPC), the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the National Pension Service (NPS), and UNESCAP co-organized the 9th Public Pension Experts International Training in the Asia-Pacific Region on 26-30 September (online) for five days.

This year's training covered six main topics: general introduction of the pension scheme, pension fund management, ICT, retirement plan, and anti-corruption policies. Other components of the training included special lectures (the NPS's responses to the pandemic, South Korean welfare system, and social security agreement), presentations and consulting on the pension systems of the trainees' respective countries, online site-visits (the Jeonju Headquarter and Seoul Call Center), and cultural events (K-pop dance and traditional paper-doll making).

The event was attended by 22 participants from three countries: seven officials from Thailand (Social Security Office) and five officials from Indonesia (BPJS) for the basic course, and ten officials from Malaysia (Employee Provident Fund) for the advanced course.
