□ The Tax Programme, OECD Korea Policy Centre (Director General: CHO, Kyu Bum) hosted the International Workshop on Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation with the WCO on 10 May, 2013 at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Main Issues of the Workshop

□ In this first joint WCO-OECD public conference, many tax and customs officials from the Asia-Pacific region, local officials from the relevant ministries as well as experts from the private sector have gathered together to explore possible coordination of Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation.

ㅇ Nowadays, not only Korea but also many leading countries have been troubled with problems related to transfer pricing and customs valuation. Participants were able to examine the related issues and cases and also hear experts' opinions about reasonable measures for improvement.

ㅇ Mr. Cho, Kyu Bum, Director General of the Tax Prgramme, OECD Korea Policy Centre mentioned it is expected that the government will present rational policy directions related to prevention of double taxation and experts from the export and import industry will also provide useful information to solve problems like double investigation.
