The 78th Tax Seminar on Workshop on Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation for Asia Pacific

"Workshop on Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation for Asia Pacific"

(6-10 May 2013, Seoul Centermark Hotel, Korea]

 

□ The Tax Programme, OECD Korea Policy Centre(Director General: Kyu Bum Cho) hosted the 78th OECD International Tax Seminar on Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation) on 6-11, May, 2013 at CenterMark Hotel in Seoul, Korea.

 

□ This seminar offered an opportunity for tax officials from 20 different countries, including Russia, India, Philippines, and Cambodia, to learn new information related to transfer pricing and tax evaluation that helped develop their practical abilities.

ㅇ The seminar served as an opportunity for 40 tax officials to strengthen their practical abilities through case analysis on 'Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation' provided and led by experts from the OECD, World Bank, World Customs Organization.

Main Issues of the Seminar

□ Main issues dealt at the seminar are as follows:

ㅇ Introduction The basic principles of transfer pricing and customs valuation

ㅇ Harmonization plan of Korea's transfer pricing and customs valuation (Case of each country)

ㅇ Discussion and case analysis on disharmony case of transfer pricing and customs valuation

 

□ 3 experts, Colin Clavey(OECD), Joel Lachlan Cooper(World Bank) and Leonardo Macedo(World Customs Organization) passed on their know-hows and hands-on background to strength the participants' capabilities.

Closing Ceremony & Experiencing the Korean History and Culture

□ Participants were able to not only strengthen their working ability but also gain significant interest in topics. They also showed sincere appreciation to the KTC and its members for hosting and managing the event.

 

Especially, Mr. Allwyn John Netto who participated enthusiastically expressed appreciation to the KTC and other participants through playing the guitar.

ㅇOn Saturday, participants went on a study tour to visit places such as Gyeongbok palace, N-Tower and Namdaemoon Market which helped the participants further learn and deepen their understanding about the Korean culture and history.
