Prior to the National Health Accounts (NHA) estimation efforts conducted in 1998-1999 and 2003-2004, national health expenditures of Bangladesh were not estimated. After adopting the OECD SHA accounting system, an estimate of the aggregate national health expenditures has been possible due to the inclusion of the private expenditure on health.
The paper analyzes different expenditures in healthcare in Bangladesh, for 2004-2005.
