ㅁThis seminar explored the assessment of market power and, in situations where the

   market power amounts to dominance, practices that may be an abuse of that

   dominant position.  Some of the abusive practices are vertical restraints. 

   The seminar included discussions of the economic theory underlying abuse of

   dominance cases, and also presented case studies and hypothetical exercises that

   raise practical considerations for competition enforcers.  The seminar also considered

   state-created monopolies, the use of advocacy, and remedies.   Throughout the

   program, participants were encouraged to share ideas and experiences, and to ask

   questions.
