The First INDIGO Network on SEA

The Public Governance Programme and the INDIGO Division of the OECD Public Governance Directorate co-hosted the first INDIGO Network in Seoul, Korea

on September 3rd. The OECD Network on INDIGO (Innovative, Digital, and Open Government) for the Southeast Asia region gathered around 60 high-level

government officials including ones from eight SEA countries. The delegates shared their progress at home and how they strive to make their government more

effective by making government more innovative, participatory, and technologically advanced.

Delegates from the OECD member countries including Korea and Australia joined the Network to enrich the regional discussion and presented their progress

at home. The Government of Korea took the role of Chair for the first Network meeting, which was hosted along with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety

hosting the 'Open Government Symposium' and the 'OECD Working Party on Open Government'.

Following the events, the Executive Secretary of the OECD Korea Policy Centre, Ryun Joo Lee, had a bilateral meeting with the OECD Deputy Secretary General,

Mary Goodman, and exchanged a shared view on how an enhanced partnership between the two organizations can play critical roles in the region for better

governance and they have agreed to strengthen the cooperation for the cause in the future.
