The Public Governance Programme and the OIG Division of the OECD Public Governance Directorate have agreed to publish a co-research project on public communication in December 2020. The research, 'Innovating Public Communication: A roadmap to leverage digital transformation and behavioural insight in public communication in Southeast Asia', aims to analyze governments' efforts to communicate with their citizens for the realization of open governments.

On May 27, 24 government officials from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and the UK gathered to share their experience of connecting with citizens. The evidence gathered from this fact-finding seminar will be complemented with in-depth interviews. An interim report will be published in November and the final publication will be release in 2022.
